Care home - Brodick, Isle of Arran, Scotland
A new care home to replace an old, outdated facility was commissioned by North Ayrshire Council. The design consultant, Hurley Palmer Flatt, Glasgow office considered various options for the renewables requirement for the building design before deciding upon air source heat pumps. The heat pump solution was to provide both heating and DHW for the facility. Two units were required providing approximately 140 kW capacity at design conditions.
